Students taking Senior Secondary Chemistry or Combined Science (Chemistry Part) are welcome. Students should apply via schools. Only one application form is needed for each school. In the past few years, there are 277 participating schools.
The Chemists Online Self-study Award Scheme is the extended idea from the Chemists Online. Chemists Online is a collaborative project between local universities and secondary schools funded by the Quality Education Fund. Leading by Lok Sin Tong Young Ko Hsiao Lin Secondary School and Hong Kong Virtual University, the project had organised 18 seminars for secondary school students in the 2011/12 and the 2012/13 school years. The seminars cover a wide range of chemistry topics, including synthetic polymers, gastronomy, nanomaterials and food chemistry, etc. All the seminars were delivered by experts from local universities. The contents of the seminars were designed to link with the senior secondary Chemistry curriculum and further extend the reach to the latest advances in chemistry.
